Lasting Memories – # 207

Welcome back scrappers..
Last week the Lasting Memories challenge #207   – LET’s CELEBRATE was opened.. I actually forgot to share my DT layout with you all..

The challenge is open until the end of the month for you to link up to, so let’s get scrapping and share your Celebration with us!

I went back to basics with this layout.. Nothing I did was working as I had pictured in my head..
I went through several base backgrounds and different embellishment ideas, til I finally gave up and made it a simple basic layout.. And it actually turned out pretty nice! :)

The photo is celebrating the Christening of my gorgeous little nephew…

I would love to see your entry into this challenge and the rest of the challenges for this month too… So please drop on by the challenge blog to check out the details.. :)

I have been stalking many challenge blogs lately and am SO keen to get back into some scrapping, but the motivation is few and fair between… I want to, but just don’t do it for some reason.. I suppose it’s a “life getting in the way of crafting” thing… lol..

Don’t forget that you can join my over at my FaceBook page to keep up to date with any projects that I do get around to doing.. :)

A couple of THANK YOU cards..

I made these two THANK YOU cards on Wednesday, for some special people..

The first is the Screen Card.. Made with papers from the Kaiser “be-YOU-tiful” range.. Flowers from Prima.. and a couple of die cuts sent to me for a prize RAK.. :)

Photo: "Thank you" screen card... Made with papers from the Kaiser "be-YOU-tiful" range.. Flowers from Prima.. And two special DieCuts sent to me in a fantastic packet as a Prize RAK from Kath... :)

Next had to be a Masculine theme.. Struggling a little bit with TOO many ideas.. lol..
So I tried to mash them all together and this is the finished project, a fun lollipop Card in a Box..

Hope you’ve enjoyed allowing me to share these with you today..

It’s a HEAT WAVE..

Well not quite for me though.. lol..
Australia is going thru the coldest winter we’ve had…

So creating this layout was very warming to my soul.. :)

For this challenge, we’re asking for “Summer” colours to be used.. The photo of the chilli’s above are for inspiration..

Here are a couple of close ups of my layout..

Since I wanted to use so many photos on this layout, I came up with a grid effect to showcase them all..

My boys had such a great time on the Jumbo Slide in June at the local show.. Hunter went probably about 20 times.. lol..

I would love for you to drop on over to the Lasting Memories challenge blog to share your layout and link up for entry..

Lasting Memories – #201

Anything Goes

I’m super excited to bring to you my DT layout for this challenge..

photo 2 (5)

It features a photo of my Beautiful Nan and my younger Cousin at her Christening, about 24/25 years ago..

I still haven’t come up with journaling or a title for this layout out.. I think I may let my cousin make that choice as I’m sure it will find it’s way into her or my Aunty’s album at some stage.. lol..

Here is a quick close up of the embellishment cluster..

I hope you’ve enjoyed my layout and hope you get some inspiration to upload your own layout for entry into this challenge over at the Lasting Memories blog..

A Card In A Box – or four.. lol

Oh my… How fun are these little suckers! Lol..
I did these a few months ago, but keep forgetting to share them on here with you.. After learning from a quick tutorial, I got addicted to making these! So fun and actually very fast to make the base!

The first one that I did, I made for my Mum for Mothers Day.. But can’t find the photo, so will have to share with you another day.. lol..

After that one, a bunch more just flowed out..

Lasting Memories – #199

Sooo excited to finally bring you another DT make after yet another break…

I just haven’t been able to get “motivated” enough, but thankfully I’ve been feeling pretty good and the kids have been so great lately that I’ve managed some decent time at my craft desk to scrap.. (Recently I’ve only had short periods of time that I’ve been able to craft, so I’ve been making cards instead of layouts)…

Anyway, back onto this layout.. This week at the Lasting Memories challenge blog we are asking you to follow a sketch and use it as inspiration for your entry..

photo 1 (3)  SON

I have had to search thru older albums lately as I haven’t printed any new one’s in ages, however I fully intend on fixing that very soon as I really need to use the vibe of new photos to keep me going.. lol

Anyway, this photo was taken in November 2010, Hunter was just 4 months old.. We had just attended a wedding of great friends and were getting ready for bed in our hotel.. My little man had been so well behaved the entire time, I was so proud of him! :)

I had fun with this sketch as it made me place embellishments were I normally wouldn’t have thought to.. I love a little “different” to my basic comfort zone layouts that I tend to make for DT projects..
So please do swing on by this week and get some more inspiration from the other talented DT members and get crafting yourself… Make sure you link up to the Lasting Memories challenge blog by the end of the week..

Scrapbook Fantasies – week 27

Ooooo look at me gooooo…. lol..
I’ve managed to get some more crafting done today.. YAY me!

One is a DT make, so I can’t share that until Sunday evening, however the other one is an entry to this weeks challenge from Scrapbook Fantasies just released today… “Create a layout using Patchwork as your inspiration.”

photo 2 (2)

When sifting thru some old albums I came across this adorable photo of my stepmother, Amanda meeting Hunter for the first time..
Gran was pretty smitten with another grandson..

I thought this photo would suit this challenge so perfectly.. :)

As soon as I read the challenge for this week, released only this morning, I knew straight away that I really wanted to have a go..

photo 1 (5)  I have used some squares to give the “Patchwork” effect and used some super cute “sewing” themed stamps to hide under the squares and to highlight the journaling.. The beautiful lace ribbon and the title top off the Patchwork feel for me.. Lastly these Prima flowers coordinate well with the papers..

As always, I would love for you to drop on over to the Scrapbook Fantasies blog and check out the challenge and DT example make for yourself and then get some crafting going so you can enter a layout too!

Scrap the Girls – July

Wooooo have I got something to show you tonight!!! :)

I am SOOOO excited to share with you this layout that I completed for the Scrap The Girls blog, July challenge..
“Paint and Texture Paste”

photo 3 Live – Laugh – Love

Without a doubt, this is my most favourite page that I made this weekend.. :)

I had so much fun with it, and it all very seemed to slot into place! It has turned out better than I could have imagined! :)

photo 1 (7)

So I started off with a ridiculous and awesome amount of misting sprays and a couple of frames to create masking effects…

photo 2 (8)

However for this challenge, it required the use of Paint and Texture paste, so the next layers were the texture paste and some white paint..

I really like taking progress or base photos before I start sticking the photos and embellishments down, as it helps to really highlight the work that doe go into that first part of the layout that could otherwise be missed or overlooked when completed..

photo 2 (7)

Now onto some close ups..

Here is the left side of the photo.. I painted the chipboard Chandelier, then coated it with some Shimmer too..

photo 4 (4)

This is the top right cluster of flowers and the painted chipboard Butterfly..

photo 1 (5)

Bottom right cluster..

photo 3 (8)

Finally this is the top right corner..

Thanks for letting me share this layout with you and I hope you may have gotten some inspiration from this layout.. I am totally in love with this one and am now looking forward to creating some masculine versions for my boys too..

Please do head over to the Scrap the Girls challenge blog and link up your entry too… :)
