Very Proud sporting photos to scrap soon!

Posted by on September 25, 2014

I just couldn’t wait to show you all some of my favourite photos of this season of my big boy Lane playing footy and the start to this season’s swimming..

He plays AFL in the local clubs u11 team, however he was chosen to play up a team and represent in the u13 team..
He plays as a Forward Pocket.. So he’s little, quick and can kick!   :)
The team WON the Grand Final! and their couch not only for the local regional Couch of the Year, he also got the STATE CotY.. So that’s is super exciting for the club.. The u13 Captain won the Best & Fairest for the regional league and our Full Forward won top Goal kicker of the year for regional league too!! So flippin excited and proud of all the boys!!!!!

Now onto a couple of Lane’s photos from the winter carnival he did… First is of Breast stroke in action, the second photo is him in motion of his beloved Backstroke… This week he has a Development clinic and a carnival this weekend.. He is aiming to qualify for State Champs this season (Feb 2015).. Hopefully he can clock his times early this weekend so there is no pressure on him later on..

Lane Herron - swimming photo - 2014

Last photo is actually of ME.. :)
I was very proud, overwhelmed, humbled and speechless to receive the Junior Club person of the year.. Basically it’s recognising all my work for the past 6yrs that I’ve done in relation mostly to the Junior section of the Club… I was truly shocked!!
I had no idea that I was getting this! The gentleman with me is the Junior Vice-President of the club and who I have basically taken over a lot of responsibilities for over the years.. It’s been a LONG time since anyone said some really, really nice things about me, so it was even more special to me than what a lot of people may have realised.. It finally clicked about halfway thru the introduction speech that I was the recipient.. lol..

Tonight I was surprised to have been chosen as the YAFC Junior Club person of the year.. I was a little overwhelmed with this acknowledgement as I truly had no idea until half way through the introduction speech that I was the recepicant..
For the past 6 years I've loved being apart of the Swans! Every season I become so proud of the players and it's been wonderful seeing them progress through the teams... I'm excited for the future too with Lane moving up properly into the u13's side and Hunter finally being able to join in the u7's, we still have many years ahead..
Thank you Birdie, thank you Swannies! Very proud and humbling moment!! I was speechless (which says alot! lol)... :)
