Hey Hey… I’m back…
I’m back tonight with a challenge layout for the JAI #219..
The challenge calls for inspiration to be gathered from a mood board –
I really enjoyed using this mood board..
It’s something I usually wouldn’t work with, and the colours aren’t exactly in my comfort zone either.. But as soon as I saw the colours and patterns I knew I had a Paper Pad given to me by my recent Secret Sister swap partner, that would be perfect!!!!!
This is the layout that I created –
I truly had such fun creating this page yesterday..
I sat at my craft desk for a few hours yesterday, trying to keep out of the way of the Electrician who was here..
The photo that is featured here displays my beautiful Bouquet that I had for my wedding back in 2011..
Unfortunately the yellow colour hasn’t come up as bright in the photo as it actually is in real life..
As always, I would like to thank Just Add Ink for this great challenge!
Even though I don’t get to follow through with many challenges these days, every week I still drop by the JAI blog anyway to see the amazing DT makes and other entries!
Hope you all had a great weekend.. Toni..
So excited to bring you the lastest challenge released from Lasting Memories this week..
We are asking you to scrap with this sketch!!
I haven’t had the time to do this DT make just yet, as I’ve been quite sick.. However I do love it and am hoping that I will be loading one up within the week to share with you…
In the meantime, please remember to join us with your completed layout to the DT blog..
There is a prize up for grabs this month along with a Guest DT position too..
Lasting Memories – Make Your Own Background..
I’m here today to share with you a DT layout that I did for the Lasting Memories challenge last month, but didn’t get to share it here on my blog.. (although I did share it on my Facebook page.. )
Here is the finished product for my layout..
“treasure” is the beautiful bond that Lane and Mark share..
This is the first photo I took of the base of my background.. A few sprays, stamps and inks..
Next I added a piece of pattern paper, distressed ink, more sprays and stamps..
Now time for some close ups..
Here is the bottom left corner of the photo..
Another close up.. This is the left side / top of the photo and matting..
Last photo of the post.. This is the title..
Hope you all enjoy, thanks for letting me share this with you today..
Changing up my posts this time.. I have shared with you a lot of girly creations and projects over the past week or so..
Today however I would like to share with you this awesome Need For Speed – Race clock I altered.. It is based on an inspiration from a LO that I did of my Brother and his motorbike a few months ago..
I used a pattern paper for the background from the Kaiser BaseCoat collection.. YES, I LOVE this collection!
I raided the tool shed for all the nuts, bolts and washers.. lol..
Here is a photo of my craft desk while deep in the creative process..
At the back is the layout that I used of my brother as inspiration..
The corners of the clock (inside) have stamped chicken wire and also some grey/silver clear modelling paste..
This is one of those projects that just can’t be captured in a photo.. It truly is stunning in real life!!
I have to admit to being totally in love with this clock!! I have intended on more than one occasion to gift it as a present, but still haven’t been able to part with it.. lol..
It is currently on display in my lounge room until I either gift it to a loved one, or sell it on..
I have really been enjoying making the Altered Matchboxes of all sizes lately.. So with the help from Pinterest, I noticed that some people have tiered them to make little drawers..
I have used a pack of 10 matchboxes to make this very girly and pretty drawer set..
I chose to make this something that I would like..
I usually try to make some thing in a style I would like first, so I can figure it all out before making different styles or themes..
It was quite a while ago that I actually made this project.. So for up to date info and postings of my craft projects, please drop by my FaceBook page that is wholly dedicated to my crafts..
Recently I was in another Aussie swap.. This one was for Altered Post-It Note Holders..
I had so many ideas going thru my head I made a couple of designs, just for fun!
This is what I started with..
Using a Kaiser range released a couple of months ago, I made this first holder using a photo frame..
I have had such positive feedback from this one on my crafting facebook page..
The second holder I made I used the same collection.. But used a Chipboard BTP for the base..
This is the holder that I sent off to my swap partner… She loved it thankfully!
The latest challenge theme for my Art Journal in the “Addicted to Card Making” facebook group, is to make a page dedicated to SPRING, using Pastel colours and journal about what it means to me..
As you may see in the stamp I have used a circle stamp that has all the months on it.. But I only stamped the “Sep, Oct, Nov” months.. (in Australia, these are our Spring months)
The papers I have used are from an older Graphic 45 collection..
I wrapped some twine around the frame..
The journaling reads something along the lines of, how Spring to me in Central Queensland is the most perfect time and place to be! It’s very much “Gods” country here!
Last touches were the small flowers, washi and button..
The title letters are Thicker stickers..
Thank you very much for dropping by today.. Feel free to leave me a comment on what Spring means to you if you’d like.. Cheers.. Toni..
Ooooh look at me.. How good have I been the last few days keeping posts updated on my blog! yay me! lol..
Today, I’m going to share with you an Altered Paint Brush I did for a partner swap here in Australia..
My partner was Erin, she asked for Vintage Shabby.. Unfortunately I think I was off the mark with the theme, but I did end up loving the finished project as I hope she did too!
This is the front of the paint brush I made…
I know I was “off” with the colours.. I was having a total blank crafting day and just couldn’t get anything to fit or inspire me..
I added the bird, cage, lace, vintage necklace to hopefully pick the project back up to level..
And this is the back..
I asked Erin for PRETTY & PINK… I think she absolutely nailed it! I’m totally in love with the paint brush that she made and sent to me! I think its perfect!
Thank you Erin!!
Tonight I’m sharing with you some Easter gifts that I put together for Hunter’s little Kindy friends..
These are quite simple with some cardboard wrapped around, then string wound around with the stamp on a punched label… I think they look awesome!
Each has a Freddo frog – 20 all up.. Then placed inside a small envelope so they could be placed into the kindy mail slots easily..
Please don’t forget to drop on by my FaceBook page especially dedicated for crafting..
Today I wanted to share with you some quick cards I made for a Masculine series I did lately..
I started out making these two cards..
6×6″ quilt patch style..
Then made more with the leftovers..
These two cards are 4×6″ inspired by the above cards.. I added some washi tape..
Again, using leftovers I added some different washi tape and a stamped image..
All of these papers are made by Kaiser..
Last but not least, three more male cards using Kaiser (basecoat range).. They are simple and quick but effective!
I have left these final cards blank of any extra embellishments or sentiments so that can be added to customise to the card for the person who will be receiving it..
